Platypus Tours Wineries
Our winery philosophy:

Of the estimated four million people who visit Napa Valley every year, it is thought that 80% visit the same 20 or so wineries. Since there are roughly four hundred wineries here, it isn't difficult to figure out how to avoid the crowds and find the more intimate side - and the real charm - of Napa Valley.

Here are some of the criteria we use to select the winery destinations for our visits:

• Smaller, non-touristy properties
• Warm & friendly guest service
• Very tasty, reasonably-priced wines
• Wine tasting fees of no more than $5 - $10
•  Historic and/or family-owned
• Compelling story
•  Features (Great views, wine caves, barrel-tasting etc.)
• Terrific feedback from previous tour guests

We focus on smaller, family-owned wineries and wineries of historical significance while trying to avoid larger, more heavily touristed wineries.
