"Our tour was fantastic! It was our first time in Napa and our guide Cyndi was knowledgeable, friendly, and tons of fun. She had a special gluten-free meal for me, and my food (and everyone else's) was delicious. The sampling of wineries was great, and Cyndi helped us decide the best way to ship the wine we bought home.So pleased we chose Platypus Tours--the day couldn't have been better!"
"I had the pleasure of taking a tour with Army. Every winery we stopped at was absolute perfection. From tasting wine on the Vintners home deck to meeting the horses that lived on the farm every single stop was personal, welcoming, and most importantly delicious. Army even set me up for a date later that night 😉. Overall this tour was the most fun I had on my whole trip. I can’t wait to come visit again!"
"Took a private all day Napa tour yesterday and it was awesome. Our guide Sherman was very informative and was always willing to do anything we ask him to do. Sherman even gave us suggestions for the rest of our trip on restaurants to go to places that we should see.. Thanks again Sherman an awesome day."
"Joe was fun, knowledgeable and the perfect tour guide. We will be back and request Joe on our next Platypus tour! Keep taking care of those Romanian orphans, Joe! What a guy!"
"We loved our platypus small group tour with James! Super memorable and fun with once in a lifetime experiences with owners of vineyards giving us the tour, tasting grapes, walking along vines."
"Ive never been on a wine tour until this trip last weekend and I wasn’t sure what to expect but I can assure you that this tour was PHENOMENAL. We had Chris as our tour guide through Napa and he set us up with 4 incredible wineries. One was even paired with a chocolate and wine tasting. Chris went out of his way to take us to the Napa wine tour sign so we could all take pictures as well. They make sure you are well fed through out the trip and are hydrated with water. We had someone on our tour that was gluten free and she was taken care of as well. One thing that really stood out to me was that we never felt pressured to buy wine or join the wine clubs when we are at the specific wineries. Overall i’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who is ready to try some good wine, have a good time, meet some new people, and experience Napa the right way."
"This tour was fabulous. Mark was our tour guide He was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable We enjoyed the smaller wineries that we didn’t Know were there We will definitely do that tour again the next time we are in Napa Thanks"
"I can't say enough good things about Platypus Wine Tours. If you're heading to Napa and you're a little lost as to what to do while you're there, I whole-heartedly recommend you put your trip in Platypus' hands. Greg was a passionate, knowledgeable and funny tour guide and the wineries he picked out for us were unique and amazing. Each winery we showed up at was ready for our group with a dedicated table and knowledgeable staff. And the lunch that was provided was delicious. The U-shaped seating allowed us to really get to know the people we were sharing our day with and we had an amazing time."
"I highly recommend the small group wine tour! Our guide chose the best smaller wineries for us to visit and he was very knowledgeable about wine in general and the Napa area. We also had a great time getting to know the other people in our group. We will definitely use Platypus again."
"Army was a pleasant and competent host and he picked good locations for us to visit. The only negative on the trip was a situation created by 2 specific guests (a husband and wife) from the Napa Welcome Center. They said they were volunteers at the Center and were granted a free tour and free tastings because they were "in the industry" and could better make future recommendations to travelers. These two freeloaders tended to monopolize tour conversations and spaces that should have been dedicated to paying guests.Plus, very suspiciously, the freeloading wife waited alone in the tasting room at Bennett Lane while the group and the only host on duty went on a vineyard tour. Soon thereafter, it was quite evident that this lady was stinking drunk and she became increasingly belligerent with both her husband and Army. I suspect this lady helped herself to unlimited glasses of wine while the group was in the vineyard. On final ride back to Napa, the drunk, freeloading lady demanded that Army stop the van so she could relieve herself on the roadside (Army wisely refused for everyone's safety) and she even began to undress inside the van to prepare herself to urinate (her husband restrained her, but she smacked him for it). Needless to say, these two problematic guests (again, who were on the tour gratis) put a big damper on what would have been a great Platypus Tour.I'd recommend that you give feedback about these two "volunteers" to the Welcome Center. They are NOT good representatives of Napa."
