"I went on this tour with my mom and sister as part of our weekend getaway. Platypus tours did not disappoint! We had such a great experience and Jerri was gracious and fun. Our tour day was a hot one and jerri made sure we stayed cool, arranging for some of our tours to head in doors and having the ac ready for us before we made it to the next stop. Thank you platypus for a memorable day. Looking forward to trying out the Sonoma tour next trip!"
"We enjoyed our trips. One was the Napa trip which came after our balloon ride (which we also book through Platypus) and the other was the Sonoma valley one. Different driver guides who were both super friendly and informative. Some of the wineries are a bit too crowded and they did not make time for us, whereas others gave us tours and explanations and the tasting was worth the $15. It is a great way to get around and have a drink without worrying about driving. Because of the time constraints they stick closer to the southern end of the valleys. We had a great group on both days. I would not like to go on the trip if the bus is at full capacity as it would be too many people on tour. The only downside was that there is a long wait between the finish of the balloon ride and Platypus picking you up at Yountville but it does give you time to go around the town. The other is that we were told that corkage was reasonable so no problems buying a few bottles. When we got back to SF we found out the corkage was $20 plus !"
"We had Kelly As our guide on 4 wineries. She did a great job taking care of everyone and we had a fantastic time. Excellent choice if you want to see several wineries. Would do it again. "
"We had a great day with Platypus Tours and would recommend this to others visiting the area! The bus picked us up right at our Airbnb location on time and it was very clean. The tour guide was extremely personable and welcoming, not to mention knowledgeable about the area and wines. The lunch was a great benefit, fresh sandwiches, fruit, salads, etc. plus a surprise dessert at the end! "
"I came to Napa Valley to celebrate my twenty-first birthday, and Platypus made the trip truly unforgettable. Our tour guide Kira was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, and went out of her way to accommodate us for the lunch, as I am a vegetarian and my mother is vegan. I will definitely be doing another Platypus tour during my next trip to Napa Valley."
"I had such a wonderful time! It was so great to go to Luca’s personal home and have the tasting on his patio looking over his vineyard at Bennett Valley Cellars."
"Couldn't have asked for a better day! Kira was our guide, and she was very fun and accommodating. She took care of everything including shipping our wine to us so we didn't have to bother. We had special dietary needs that were met also which we really appreciated. AND, Kira proved me wrong by offering a couscous salad that actually tasted great. Didn't see that happening. Overall, I'll be recommending Platypus to anyone and everyone."
"Perfect tour! Kira was wonderful and selected a great list of wineries for us to visit. The lunch and snacks were tasty and we enjoyed lunch with a beautiful view. We had plenty of time at each winery and Kira was always happy to take pictures, share information, and just be a fun part of our group. Highly recommend!"
"I was lucky enough to experience my 4th wine tour in Napa/Sonoma with Platypus tours a week ago and I look forward to my next one! As always the driver (Jarred) was on time, professional and provided fun facts during our drive from one winery to the next. I love the small, family owned boutique winery’s that Platypus takes us too! They are not ones you would find on your own with so many to pick from. They are always accommodating since we request to get dropped off by a certain time in order to make our dinner reservations. My first wine tour with Platypus was by myself and I have since brought a number of friends every time since then. I highly recommend this day trip to visit 4 wineries and leave the driving and planning to the experts who have relationships with most of the winery owners!!"
"It was just OK. The first winery Auborn James was way too small —nothing to see there. We were on a deck of a house. Fair winds was great. Josh the taster was friendly and fun. Lunch in the cave was great. Benessere was not good ..the guy was rude “ you are early and we are not ready for you”. Plus I don’t care about the owners house —which we had to see. The guys was full of himself. Rutherford was a great last stop. Choc with wine was a bonus. Michael was just a fair guide. He talked about how to drink wine —with a water bottle —-odd. Overall just fair tour —find some picturesque wineries —not houses !"
