# Platypus Wine Tours > Casual, social, and knowledgeable guided small-group wine tours, custom private charters, and boutique winery experiences in Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Platypus Wine Tours was founded in 2003 with the mission of providing an authentic, fun, and unpretentious wine country experience. Unlike large bus tours or traditional limousine rentals, Platypus specializes in intimate, social wine tours visiting hidden-gem, boutique, and historic family-owned wineries that are generally off the beaten path. Every tour includes friendly local tour guides, comfortable air-conditioned passenger shuttles, complimentary chilled bottled water, and a signature catered picnic lunch served outdoors at one of the scenic winery stops. ## Join-In Wine Tours -
