CALISTOGA WINERY DIRECTORY
TOP CALISTOGA WINERIES
The northernmost town in the Napa Valley, Calistoga is known for old-west charm, unique wines, natural geothermal hot springs and down-home hospitality. On our wine tours, we visit wineries in Calistoga frequently. It is a favorite among our tour guests!
Calistoga wines offer distinctive flavors produced from diverse soil types and geology. Volcanic activity formed the bedrock eons ago, and today we get the chance to enjoy the resulting fine wines of the area. Exploring through Calistoga wineries is a genuine treat, and we particularly love to tour through the area’s historic, and boutique, family-owned wineries.
The modern history Calistoga dates back to the mid-1800s, when the region’s natural hot springs attracted attention and inspired Sam Brannon to build a resort town modeled on Saratoga Springs, NY. Using his influence as California’s first millionaire, Brannon got a railroad and ferry system in place to bring vacationers from gold-rich San Francisco.
Today, Calistoga remains a compelling and romantic getaway for people looking to relax at one of the many resorts featuring these very same hot springs, followed by a tour of Calistoga wineries. It’s hard to imagine a better way to relax than by taking in this charming, historic and beautiful town.
Our Napa Valley tours feature some truly memorable Calistoga wineries, complete with picturesque grounds, intimate tasting rooms and delicious wines. The downtown itself boasts many interesting restaurants and shops with tasting rooms highlighting incredible wines from Calistoga wineries.
We’d love to show you the beautiful town of Calistoga and help you uncover the hidden-gem Calistoga wineries on our Napa Valley Join-in tour or on a Private Wine Tour. Explore the town and the much-celebrated attractions located here.
