Michael was great. This was a gift that was given to us. We are not much wine drinkers so it wouldn’t be fair to judge the wineries, although a couple of them were beautiful. Michael gets 5 stars, wineries get 3 stars.

Platypus is the best!! My husband and I went on our second tour in April 2019 (first one was in June 2017) and both were amazing!! The tour guides are so fun and knowledgeable. The wineries they chose (we visited 4 different wineries on each tour) were all so great. They provide lunch – which they set up for you at one of the wineries, so you have wine and a beautiful view while you eat. On our June tour there was probably 15 other people, and on our April tour it so happened that nobody else signed up, so we were the only two on the tour, and we truly had such a great time both times! I would highly recommend these tours to anyone!! It’s a great way to see a cool mix of wineries in one day, without having to do any research or planning yourself!

My mom & I had a great time on our join-in tour! Our group was fun and Greg was a gracious host. We enjoyed touring a variety of vineyards- large and small. Lunch was great and our views from the lunch vineyard were incredible. I’ve already recommended Platypus to a friend and will continue to do so!
It is reputed by many vinophiles that as a group the Russian River wineries are among some of the finest in Northern California, rivalling those of the nearby Napa Valley. The Russian River Valley was approved as an American Viticultural Area in 1983. A vistor will the opportunity to sample outstanding Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir wines, as as exemplary Merlots and Zinfandels.
At Platypus Wine Tours we focus on providing a special experience for our guests, visiting smaller, more intimate wineries that offer delicious, unique wines. We’re happy that the travel website Trip Advisor consistently ranks our Sonoma Wine Tours as a top-rated activity in the region – and our North Sonoma County wine tours to the Russian River are just as well liked!
