Benessere Vineyards is a small family owned high end producer of Italian varietals, located in the north end of Napa Valley in St. Helena where the soil is well suited for growing grapes.
Benessere is the Italian word for well-being. The Benish family owners chose the name Benessere to convey the unique qualities of the wholesome lifestyle found in their charming corner of the wine country. Their first release was 135 cases of 1995 Sangiovese.  Since then they have added other Italian varietals, including Pinot Grigio, Moscato di Canelli, Sagrantino, and Aglianico, and they make two proprietary blends, Sorridente and Phenomenon, and a couple of great Zinfandels.
We love Benessere’s Italian-inspired wines (unusual Italian varietals not normally found in Napa), their charming, yellow barn-style winery with seating available on a covered patio surrounded by roses and vineyards, picnic tables underneath redwood trees, intimate tasting room adjacent to the barrel cellar and accommodating staff. We’re almost always able to have the winemaker chat with our tour guests during our visits there.
Tastings at Benessere Vineyards are available seven days a week, from 10:00am – 5:00pm, although you’ll need to call in advance for availability for same day reservations, or request it as part of a Platypus Wine Tour – just let us know your desire to visit this great winery!
