Like more than a few wineries located here in Napa Valley, Razi Winery started out as a hobby by winery owner/architect Fred Razi in the late eighties with the production of a non-commercial chardonnay.
Today the thriving winery not only produces its amazing signature Razi Chardonnay, a tasty red blend composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (60 percent), Merlot (30 percent) and Syrah (10 percent), a rather intense Shiraz and a robust Cabernet Sauvignon for sale to the public, it also offers custom crush capability where smaller-sized growers can also make their own wines.
We love bringing people here on our Platypus Wine Tours because our customers often enjoy discounted tasting fees on some fantastic wines. And because Razi is a smaller winery and the owner lives on site, you will often get to taste with either the owner, or perhaps the winemaker, for a more intimate experience.
The boutique winery is located along the Silverado Trail, which is only a few minutes from Napa, and includes the Razi home, pool and pavilion with a Buddha oven at one end of the pool, majestic trees, barrel room and a beautiful, modern yet classic, tasting room.
Tastings at Razi Winery are scheduled by appointment only, or as part of a Platypus Wine Tour – just let us know your desire to visit this great winery.
