Platypus Wine Tours offers a delicious lunch and tasty bites for guests to enjoy during their Wine Country California tour. Dedicated to making each experience as delightful and flavorful as possible, the Platypus Culinary Staff has created many recipes internally that have become true “fan favorites.”
Inevitably, the Platypus guests will ask the Team to provide the recipe for one of their standout dishes, and the group is pleased to comply.
Here is a simple, time-saving recipe for a popular item regularly offered to the Platypus Wine Tour guests.
Platypus No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
- 6 cups Light brown sugar
- 3 sticks of butter
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 7 1/2 cups quick rolled oatmeal
- 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 1 1/2 cups Nutella®
- 3 tbsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp salt
Process:
Place the sugar, butter, milk, and cocoa powder in a sauce pot, and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring often.
Move the mixture to a mixing bowl. Add the oatmeal, coconut, peanut butter, Nutella, vanilla, and salt. Mix well and quickly (since the cookies will set fast!)
Spoon onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Press each spoonful flat with the spoon.
Allow the set for about 30 minutes at room temperature. Serve and Enjoy!
