HdV is a venture between the Hyde Family of Napa Valley and the de Villaine Family of Burgundy. The families, related by marriage, share long histories in French and Californian winemaking. In HdV, we have brought together our knowledge and experience for the purpose of creating single vineyard wines from the slopes of Hyde Vineyards.
As a family-owned Winery and Vineyards; they grow their own grapes and craft some fantastic wines. The focus is hand crafting wines from their 32 acre property located in the Northern part of Napa Valley. The Estate Cabernet is grown 100% on property. The Bartholomew Family Vineyards are hand farmed using sustainable farming practices. Their property encompasses two AVA's, the newly formed Calistoga Appellation & Diamond Mountain Appellation.
In 2006, several close-knit family members discovered 50 acres of hillside vineyards in Knights Valley, the perfect spot to produce exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Knights Bridge vineyard is nestled on the pristine west side of Knights Valley, the warmest appellation in Sonoma County. It was here that the family decided to create Knights Bridge Winery with the singular goal of producing world-class wines. Joining on their quest is a group of talented professionals, all striving together in the pursuit of excellence from sustainable farming methods and small lot wine production to unique tasting experiences. Knights Bridge Winery is guided by a deep respect for nature, a passion for fine wines, and a dedication to family and friends.
Known for extraordinary Zinfandels, Cabernets and Chardonnays, Laura Michael Swanton is zealous about vineyard sourcing and production techniques and it is reflected in the wines.
With a history going back to 1874, current day Markham is comprised of 350 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards and both the vineyards and the winery have been GREEN certified.
