In the ever changing society we are currently living in surrounded by the regulations of COVID-19, we wanted to share some of the updates happening across the Napa Valley. During these unprecedented times, one thing remains a constant, wine country wants to share fabulous wine with you. The wineries and their staff have been hard at work, practicing multiple measures available to have a safe environment to welcome guests back and sip on some fine wine.

First and foremost, Platypus Wine Tours is excited to announce that private wine tours in Napa are back up and running again! Our staff is taking the utmost care and concern for all of our guests joining us for a Napa winery tour.   We welcome members of the same household to join us for a private tour through the gorgeous rolling hills of vineyards in wine country. In terms of sanitization, at each stop the bus is thoroughly cleaned after everyone has got off the bus along with other precautions. The Platypus team is excited to welcome you and your group back soon!

Our friends at the wineries are also practicing safe guidelines for guests traveling back to the area. If you decide to take a getaway to wine country, expect to have a few simple changes during your wine tasting experience. Like most restaurants and other food/beverage establishments right now, you will most likely be asked and required to wear a face mask or covering as you enter and exit the tasting area. Don’t worry, you won’t have to master trying to drink wine through your face mask and will be able to take it off during the tasting once seated.

In addition, you can expect more wine tastings to be held outside, and during the beautiful summer months in Napa Valley we can not think of anything better! Enjoy the gorgeous views and sip on some phenomenal Napa Valley wine. Along with more outdoor seating, wineries are taking limited group sizes to ensure proper social distancing. To meet cleanliness standards, wineries are tending to have more staff on site and available to assist.

With the changes being made at the wineries to meet new protocol guidelines, we hope to see you in wine country soon for a safe wine tasting experience. Wineries seem to be seeing far fewer guests in general. This means you should book farther in advance, and capitalize on your wine club member status whenever possible. Call ahead to book your reservation to ensure the winery is open and has availability.
